What is the process of getting a survey?
The basic process is:
The client orders the survey.
Field crew comes to the site to collect field data
The field data goes to the CAD department
The completed survey goes to review before signing
After review, the survey is copies and sent to client.
What information do I need to order a survey?
- The property address is most important.
- If there is not an address the county property appraisers real estate number or legal description
- Know what type of survey you require. Our staff will try to work with you if you aren't sure what survey services you need.
- Have your contact information ready.
- Previous surveys are always helpful.
What are certifications?
The names of people and/or organizations that appear on the survey as beneficiaries of the survey. Typically, for a real estate closing or refinancing the certifications include: the buyer, the lender, the title company, the title insurance company and the closing attorney. Certifications cannot be changed after 90 days of the date that the field work was completed.
How long does it take to get a survey?
There are many factors that determine the length of time it takes to have a survey completed. These factors include: how busy we are, the weather (our equipment is not water proof), the size and complexity of the property and/or the scope of work, any research or calculations that the survey job may require before the crew can begin work in the field and time to receive documents that must be ordered from the city, county or state. Please feel free to ask for the turn around time.
How do I pay for my survey?
Boatwright Land Surveyors, Inc. will accept payment, by cash, check or credit card. Once you receive the invoice, we can take payment by credit card over the phone. Please make checks payable to: Boatwright Land Surveyors, Inc.
